What do a law office and an Osprey's nest have in common?
1. Information.  By aiming a camera into the Ospreys' nest, we learn about their habits, vitality, and conditions. Once endangered, these magnificent birds are returning in greater numbers each year. The more we know about them, the more we can facilitate their increasing strength. An attorney's job is to give you all of the available information which may effect your outcome. With proper information, and guidance, you are able to make your own intelligent decisions.
2. Security.  The Osprey build a solid nest and return to it for several years. They know they can hatch new eggs where they have successfully hatched them before. High in a treetop (or, in this case, on a light pole) the nest is protected from most predators, and next to the Long Island sound, there is plenty of food available to help the babies grow. You establish a relationship with your law firm over the course of years. You might begin by starting your own company and needing the protections of a corporate structure. Then as your business grows and develops you go back to the same law firm, create new agreements, put new protections in place, and take advantage of the resources around you to make your company successful.
3. Liberty.  The freedom to leave the nest, gather food, follow their annual migration trails, and raise their children are all liberties the Osprey enjoy once the security of the nest has been established. Knowing the laws, and knowing people who can help you navigate those laws, gives you the freedom to pursue your own paths, goals, and dreams.
4. For the Common Good.  The return of the Osprey in ever greater numbers is a signal that the human population is taking better care of our environment. By being mindful of our effect on the water and air, we are bringing back the planet that serves all of us, now and into the future.
Law Offices of Gary Oberst, P.C. is pleased to be able to donate the funds which make the Osprey camera possible. Taking care of ourselves and those around us is a privilege we enjoy thanks to the loyalty of our clients and friends.
